Underfoot Feel
A lightweight, compression-moulded foam feels protective, yet responsive. This means the AltraFWD Experience should offer great performance for slower and steadier paced runs. Particularly useful if you mix up your paces.
To make your runs feel easier, the midsole design has a prominent rocker shape geometry. In addition to encouraging more efficient toe-offs, the rocker rolls your feet forward and helps you hold your pace.
Upper Fit
The AltraFWD Experience has Altra's Standard FootShape Fit toe box. Which means it feels spacious in the forefoot area. Made with an engineered mesh, the All Black upper feels breathable.
Ideal Run Type
As the Altra Men's AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes have a 4 mm drop, we think it's likely these will suit heels strikers to midfoot strikers. That's because there's a lot of protection on offer in that area of the midsole.
Given the attributes of the midsole material, the AltraFWD Experience should be well suited to longer distance runs. However, you might like to slip them on for an easy 5 km. The combination of the foam and rocker shape geometry lends itself to runs at slower to steady paces.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
